The Florida False Claims Act (“FFCA”) is written into the Florida statutes at Fla. Stat. §§ 68.081-68.092.
What kind of fraud is covered by the Florida False Claims Act?
The FFCA applies to any claim made to the state or any department, division, bureau, commission, regional planning agency, board, district, authority, agency, or other instrumentality of the state. The claims may relate to Florida Medicaid, general procurement, transportation, education, construction or other state-funded programs.
Additionally, Florida is one of the few states in the country which allows tax-related claims to be brought under the state’s False Claims Act.
