What kind of fraud is covered by the Illinois False Claims Act?
The IFCA applies to any claim made to the state or any agency of the state government, the system of state colleges and universities, any school district, county, municipality, or local government. The claims may relate to Illinois Medicaid, general procurement, transportation, education, construction or other state-funded programs.
Additionally, Illinois is one of the few states in the country which allows tax-related claims to be brought under the state’s False Claims Act.
